AvoDerm Puppy Food:
Daily Feeding Guide
Allow your puppy to free feed until fully weaned (approximately six to eight weeks). After weaning, your puppy can be fed AvoDerm Puppy moistened or dry. Develop a regular feeding schedule starting with 3 small meals a day for younger puppies.
AvoDerm Puppy Food:
As your puppy gets a little older, gradually reduce the feeding to twice a day. As your puppy reaches 1 year, he may not eat as much and this is normal. Start to reduce the amount fed to ensure proper weight maintenance to prevent overeating.
AvoDerm Puppy Food:
Feed your puppy the required amount by determining his weight as an adult dog. Please take into consideration your pets relative activity level. If you are not sure about how much to feed, discuss your pet's condition with your veterinarian.
AvoDerm Puppy Food:
Switching Foods/Reproduction
When switching your puppy to AvoDerm Puppy from another dog food, please allow enough time for this transition to take place. Each day feed more AvoDerm Puppy and less of the previous food, until you are feeding AvoDerm Puppy exclusively. This gradual transition should take 7 to 10 days.
AvoDerm Puppy Food:
AvoDerm Puppy provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Consumption may vary during gestation, so allow your dog to eat enough to maintain good body condition during this stressful period. She may consume twice as much or more during the lactation period.

AvoDerm Message:
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
In 1960, we developed our first oven-baked kibble and biscuits. Even then, we exceeded the minimum nutritional requirements to create the most nutritious products available. We added a bakery to our Irwindale facility a short time later.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
Today, we bake delicious, all-natural pet foods and treats around the clock. Hard work and excellent products let Breeder's Choice enjoy steady growth over the years, but it was an avocado that made our company famous!

AvoDerm - For a Healthier Skin and Coat
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
Breeder’s Choice has been family owned and operated for more than 50 years.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
As dog lovers and experienced dog owners, we know that the condition of a dog’s skin and coat is frequently a reflection of the dog’s overall health, and that poor skin health can almost always be traced to dietary insufficiencies or imbalances. Fortunately, Breeder’s Choice is located right in California, where the world’s best avocados are found in abundance.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
Nutrient-rich avocados are an excellent balanced source of nutritional essentials for your dog’s skin and coat health and good health in general. Avocados provide your dog with exactly the right choices for a healthy, glowing, beautiful skin and coat.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
Health From the Inside Out
“A healthy skin and coat on the outside. A healthy dog on the inside.”
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
YOUR DOG'S MOST VULNERABLE ORGAN.
The largest, most exposed, most vulnerable organ your dog has is his skin and coat. Yes, your dog’s skin and coat really do constitute an organ, performing many tasks vital to your dog’s survival. Warmth, maintaining body temperature, and protection against parasites, infections and the elements are a few of its functions. Subject to constant attack by everything they protect your dog from, your dog’s skin and coat have some exceptional nutritional needs in order to maintain their health.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
WHERE DOES THE AVOCADO COME FROM?
The right nutrients in the right proportions are indispensable to keeping your dog’s skin healthy. Remember, skin and coat problems are never just cosmetic. Symptoms such as hair loss, thinning coats, dullness, dry skin, thickened skin, matted hair, infections and odors can usually be traced back to either a shortage or an excess of a specific nutrient.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
In fact, there is no more visible indicator of problems with your dog’s overall health than problems with his skin and coat. Fortunately, many of the nutrients your dog needs for a healthy skin and coat can be found in rich amounts in the remarkable fruit known as the avocado.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT AVOCADOS?
Nutrient-dense and high in crude fiber, avocados aren’t called the ACE of fruits for nothing--vitamins A, C and E are there in abundance, as is B6. Avocados are also rich in folate, potassium, niacin, essential fatty acids and many other nutrients essential to good skin and coat health as well as good overall health.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
Avocados have zero cholesterol, very little sodium, and are high in monosaturated fats, the same kind found in olive oil that are known for fighting DLD, the "bad" cholesterol. Ounce for ounce, the avocado is simply one of the most nutritious fruits there is.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
IT'S HARD TO BE CUTE WITH SKIN PROBLEMS.
Most skin and coat problems are connected to specific dietary imbalances. Provided in quality, abundance and balance, the nutrients found in AvoDerm have specific roles to play:
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
• Vitamin A. Skin cells need vitamin A to mature and maintain themselves. Too much or too little can cause a callous-like thickening of the skin and hair follicles. Skin infections will increase as well.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
• Vitamin E. Vitamin E adds stability to skin cells, and helps keep them from breaking down. Seborrhea, or dandruff, has been connected to inadequate amounts of vitamin E.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
• Protein. Hair is made of protein, and hundreds of thousands of growing hairs can add 60 feet of total new hair length every day. Slower growth, brittle hairs, a thinner coat, a change in color, mange mites, scaling, crusting and acne have all been linked to insufficient dietary protein.
AvoDerm Dog Food by Breeder's Choice:
• Essential Fatty Acids. Your dog’s skin and coat need certain kinds of oils, which his body produces using essential fatty acids. Without the right kind of dietary fat, your dog’s body will over-produce oils of a very poor quality, creating a greasy, matted condition and unappreciated aroma.
